By | General News | No Comments

Graham and Swain County Independent Brand Partners held a Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS) event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina on Nov. 5, 2016. This was the first BFKS event for the Graham and Swain County branch, and it was a success! The Neora team (one of eight at the event) was successful in using the online fundraising vehicle to gather support from other Independent Brand Partners. The funds raised at this event will help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina’s new school mentoring program. Graham County started its program this fall. Both counties are in a rural, mountainous area of North Carolina. A great portion of the area is part of a Cherokee reservation and Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The Brand Partners concentrated on recruiting business and civic teams in the area to great success! Total donations for the BFKS event…

North Carolina Neora Brand Partners have made a BIG impact on their local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency and hundreds of deserving children. This trio has hosted a Bowl for Kids’ Sake, volunteered their support and worked to connect other Brand Partners with the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission. John Mitterling, Chief Development Officer for their local agency, writes to share his gratitude for the passion they have shared: “We highly value our partnership with Neora International! We grow every month in our involvement with and support from Neora Brand Partners. Their support of our Bowl For Kids’ Sake is growing, and we even created a separate event just for Neora Brand Partners so we could get to know them better. They have invited us to two of their Regional events, allowing our Bigs and Littles to speak —clapping and hugging them after each presentation — making them feel so special….

The Roth Family makes a BIG match for Kaleb

By | General News | No Comments

Some Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in the United States and Canada offer a program called Big Families. These “matches” include an at-risk child in the program and a family who would like to bond with and mentor the child together. The benefits of the program are shared exponentially by everyone involved. Many adults want to mentor, but don’t want to sacrifice time with their own children while they are away with a Little. Parents also mention that they appreciate the opportunity to involve their children in empowering others. The Little in the relationship benefits not only from the guidance and attention of the adult mentors, but also from observing and interacting with a healthy family unit. So many Littles in the program don’t have both parents participating in their lives. These children don’t grow up seeing the playful banter, loving embraces and respectful conflict resolution that takes place on…

Together since January 2015, Lexi and Chrissy are up for anything. They share similar backgrounds – having been raised primarily by their dads – their love of sports, animals and getting dirty. This intrepid match is happily planning a trip to the batting cages and running in a muddy obstacle course race. Join this pair of trailblazers and consider volunteering as a mentor. Visit www.bbbs.org to find out more about the program and how to make a difference for children in your community.

Along with Brand Partners Jackie Bailey, Cathy Sibinski and Nancy Wall, Trish’s family and friends joined in on the fun. The evening was a huge success, raising $4,007 for Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area Big Brothers Big Sisters! With Neora’s Core Values in Action – Attracting…
